Welcome to the GLORYVILLE CHILDREN SCHOOL, OTA.

Our Curriculum

The school places particular emphasis on those skills and attitudes to learning that will enable each child to progress confidently to secondary education anywhere in the world.

We aim to establish a rich foundation of knowledge, skills, experience and ideas upon which further leaning can flourish.

Taking the British National Curriculum and its methodology as the core, our programmes of study are augmented by careful analysis of the Nigerian Curriculum and include topics relating to the continent of Africa generally.  Children are prepared for the National Common Entrance Examinations and the requirements for entry into British and Nigerian state and private secondary schools.

The school will enter children for the Nigerian Common Entrance examinations in Year 5 only.  Primary education is not a competitive race to be the first to reach secondary school.  It is the school's policy that a child should reach a certain level of maturity before entering secondary education, and we believe that this level is not reached before the age of eleven.

Our students are encouraged to take part in the wide range of extra curriculum activities (clubs) which are available at the school.

The clubs meet on a weekly basis and are managed by teachers and specialists from the community.
